The ransomware attack on the City of Antonina - PR

 On November 13, 2017, the Municipality of Antonina / PR had its Transparency Portal invaded by hackers. Data on financial transactions, in addition to public data, were hijacked.


It also happened that the links related to financial records, bids and public data showed error notices.


As the attack carried out was a ransomware , a payment in bitcoins was required (the amount was not disclosed) for the data to be restored. The good news is that the City had a continuous and updated backup of the lost data.
